The SIG Sauer P226 is a full-sized, service-type pistol made by SIG Sauer. It is chambered for the 9×19mm Parabellum,.40 S&W,.357 SIG, and.22 Long Rifle. It is essentially the same basic design of the SIG Sauer P220, but developed to use higher capacity, double stack magazines in place of the single stack magazines of the P220. The M11 is a US military designation of the SIG Sauer P228 pistol. In the early 1990s this pistol has been adopter by the US military. It was issued to Military Police, Naval Aviation, Military Criminal Investigation Command and some other units that require compact and unobtrusive handgun, smaller than a full-size M9 pistol.
Critical Updates
To provide increased flexibility for the future, DISA has updated the systems that produce STIGs and SRGs. This has resulted in a modification to Group and Rule IDs (Vul and Subvul IDs).
Test STIGs and test benchmarks were published from March through October 2020 to invite feedback. New and updated STIGs are now being published with the modified content.
