Entergram revealed on Friday that Ryukishi07's Higurashi: When They Cry Hou (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hou) game will ship for PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 24. The release will be available in physical and digital copies, as well as a limited edition.

Zakuro Motoki, sound director for 07th Expansion works, said on Twitter on Tuesday that the game would get a PS4 release. Amazon Japan also began listing the game for release on PS4 in 2019.
For the PS4 release, the regular physical version will cost 7,980 yen (about US$70), the digital version will cost 6,980 yen (about US$62), and the limited edition will cost 9,980 yen (about US$88). Similar to the Nintendo Switch version, the limited-edition release will bundle a drama CD and visual book. All versions will again include 19 scenarios from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Sui, as well as three new scenarios.

The story revolves around murders that coincide with an annual festival in a quiet rural village. The software inspired two television anime series, several video anime projects, a live-action television series, two live-action films, and manga adaptations by several artists.
